Bright Stars Nurseries has acquired two established nurseries in Bournemouth and Poole for an undisclosed amount, expanding its portfolio to more than 140 sites across the UK.
The sale of Three Gables – Day Nursery and Pre-school, which operates settings in Westbourne and Ashley Cross, follows the decision by founders Leona and Richard Grafham to retire after more than 15 years in the sector.
Together, the nurseries provide places for up to 115 children and are known for their focus on early years education in purpose-designed spaces. Both are based in converted residential properties, with the Westbourne site featuring a multi-level garden and the Ashley Cross branch offering a recently refurbished outdoor play area.
Leona Grafham said: “This was a huge, life-changing next step for us to take. We wish Bright Stars every success for the future and feel they were the perfect match for us, sharing the same ethos and values that have always been at the heart of our nursery.”
Stephen Booty, chairman of Bright Stars, added: “With over 15 years of dedication from Leona and Richard Grafham, these nurseries have developed an exemplary reputation for early childhood education within thoughtfully designed environments.
“We look forward to supporting the exceptional staff and continuing the legacy of excellence that Leona and Richard have fostered.”
