NASUWT members accept 5.5% pay increase for 2024-25

NASUWT members have voted to accept a 5.5% pay increase for 2024-25 and 3% for 2025-26, alongside commitments to address parity with schoolteachers and significant measures to address workload pressures.
A total of 79.4% of NASUWT members voted in favour of the offer.
Matt Wrack, NASUWT acting general secretary, said: “I want to commend our members who voted for industrial action, their determination has been instrumental in achieving this pay award. This agreement marks a significant step forward in addressing pay and workload issues.
“While there is still more work to be done to ensure fair remuneration and manageable workloads, this outcome reflects the progress achieved through constructive dialogue.”
Justin McCamphill, NASUWT national official for Northern Ireland, added: “We commend our members for their engagement in this process and their determination to secure better terms and conditions.
“The NASUWT will continue to campaign vigorously to ensure that the commitments made are fully implemented and that FE lecturers are no longer treated as second class teachers. Achieving pay parity for teachers and lecturers must be a priority for the Minister for the Economy.”
He continued: “The union will remain vigilant in the new academic year and stand ready to defend our members if the promises made in this offer are not delivered on.”
