Delta Academies Trust chief executive Paul Tarn has been awarded a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Tarn received the honour of Knight Bachelor for his contribution to education, having worked in the sector for more than 30 years.

He said he was “humbled by the award” and paid tribute to his colleagues and the wider profession.

Tarn said: “I’m humbled by the award and moved that my colleagues and fellow professionals want to recognise my contribution to our education system. I’d like to pay tribute to the work of my colleagues and the team at Delta Academies Trust that I have the privilege to lead.

“The friends I have made through the work of The Education Exchange have reaffirmed my belief that education attracts special people and that those following our vocation change lives.”
