Union condemns London Academy Trust over redundancies

Harris Federation, whose CEO Sir Dan Moynihan is the highest paid academy boss and earns over £500k a year, is said to be trying to make 45 teachers redundant

NASUWT has today (6 May) condemned a London Academy Trust over reportedly planning redundancies despite having £21m in the bank. According to the union, the trust is “seeking to force dozens of teachers from their jobs and using underhand tactics to try and shut out unions from any meaningful consultation process”.

Harris Federation, whose CEO Sir Dan Moynihan is the highest paid academy boss and earns over £500k a year, is said to be trying to make 45 teachers redundant whilst refusing to hold a collective consultation with trade unions.

Alongside refusing to hold a collective consultation, Harris has “failed to provide a business case for the redundancies or any financial justification at all”.
